SGYY, a Chinese herbal formula, signiﬁcantly improves the maximal intracavernous pressure in a rat arteriogenic ED model. The underlying mechanism of action of SGYY involves increasing the expression of nNOS, iNOS, eNOS, and cGMP, and reducing PDE5 expression. Therefore, the modulation of the NOS-cGMP pathway plays a major role in SGYY action for treating ED.
